What's an Android Organization Developer Account?

To launch an app, you must have both an Apple and Android (Google Play Console) developer account. Due to the increasing popularity and accessibility of mobile apps, publishers like Google and Apple frequently change developer standards an increase requirements. 


This can be frustrating for us app owners, however is is a necessary part of being an app developer. Managing your developer accounts is a big part of maintaining and owning an app. Often, you will receive developer communications with important updates and agreements you must review and complete.


One of the latest Google Play Console requirements that rolled out in early 2024 affected what kind of account you must sign up for. Until this point, many of our app owners had "Personal Developer Accounts" but due to impractical testing requirements, you must now set up your developer account as an "Organization Developer Account"

Creating a Developer Account for an Organization

Obtaining a D-U-N-S Number

Most business owners are able to provide the above information, with the exception of the D-U-N-S number, which is free to request:

I Received my D-U-N-S Number. Now What?
