How-to Add Gallery Content

Follow the steps below to learn how to add gallery content to your app, or watch our detailed video training right here

Step 1: Access the Gallery List

While in the Content Portal, go to the Content tab and select> Galleries

This will pull up the 'Gallery List.' The 'Gallery List' will populate as you add more and more gallery content to it. To add gallery content, left click on the [Add Gallery] button to get to the 'New Gallery' Form

Step 2: Filling Out The 'New Gallery' Form

  1. Gallery Name: Enter the Name of your Gallery Here. NOTE: There is a 60 character limit TIP: We suggest picking the name based on the type of gallery you add. The types of galleries you might include:
a.) A gallery of inspiration, which is essentially images with quotes/words of inspiration written on them
b.) A featured gallery, where you are showing images from an event/summit/workshop/convention and or featuring the "team" (for businesses with greater staffing and lots of in-person photos)
c.) A process gallery, which is like a slideshow of an infographic. This can be useful when included in a course, as it gives app users an understanding of the process through a visual progression of images
d.) A challenge gallery, the idea behind this gallery is that everyday (or however frequent), they are to choose one of the challenges in the image to focus on that day. So it could be an image of someone exercising, or getting a lot of work done, or cleaning. The images may have text to help solidify the challenge
e.) A transformation gallery, something like a bundle of images with daily affirmations on them, or a set of images to be used during a guided meditation in order to enhance the experience
  2. Description: Put a description of the gallery in this area. For some ideas on the wording for that, check out the Tips we included in the Gallery Name (just above here). NOTE: There is a 250 character limit
  3. Call to Action Text: Add you CTA text here. NOTE: There is a 50 character limit. Can be left blank
  4. Call to Action URL: Add you CTA URL here. NOTE: Can be left blank
  5. Featured?: By turning this button on (turns blue when on) the gallery content will be featured in the web version of the app (there is no featured gallery area in the app). The content is not featured (default state) when turned off.
  6. Topics: Gallery content is unique among other content in that you do not need to have a topic assigned to it, in order for the gallery to appear in the app. If you have 'Galleries' turned on in your dropdown menu, then any gallery content you add will show up there by default. In fact, all gallery content shows up there regardless of whether you assign it a topic or not. If the 'Galleries' option is turned off in your app, then you will need to assign each gallery a topic/listing, if you want it to appear in the app. This is the area where you can select what topic/listing you want your gallery to live under. NOTE: (1) To select a topic/listing, you must have already created the topic/listing name in the content portal. (2) If you get to this step and realize you don't have the topic/listing created yet, don't worry. Submit the 'new gallery' content without it, because you can add the topic later - by editing the content

How-to select the topic: If you have already created the topic/listing, left click in the Topics Box area. To find the topic/listing you want, you can either:
    1. scroll down until you find it
    2. begin typing its name in the box. NOTE: That you only need to type as much of the name as is required for it to appear in the list. This will vary depending on how many topics you have created and how similarly they are named
  7. Sort Order: Use sort order to organize how your content appears in the app. NOTE: The default sort order is 1. The gallery content will sort according to the numerical value you give it first, followed by alphabetically if multiple content is given the same number

How-to use sort order: If you left mouse click in the sort order box and delete the current number in order to type your own, it will automatically add a zero in front of whatever number you type. For this reason we recommend using one of the following two methods for adding the correct number that you want to type
    1. use the up/down arrows that appear in the far right of the box when you hover your mouse over the box
    2. highlight the number in the box by either using your mouse or using your keyboard to select-all (PC: Ctrl + A | Mac: Command + A) then type the number you want
  8. Tags: Functions the same way as the Topics box, except you are searching for Tags instead. NOTE: (1) The default tag is to have no tag selected. If you do want a Tag, it must already have been created for you to select it. (2) You are not required to select a tag in order to submit content. (3) You can come back and add/or modify a tag after you have submitted the 'new gallery' form
  9. Active: Because galleries automatically appear in the 'Galleries' area in the dropdown menu, we have added this button for instances when you've created the gallery content but are not yet ready for it to appear in the app. To make the gallery live, you must toggle this button on (turns blue when on), otherwise it is effectively hidden (default state) until you are ready to activate it. NOTE: The Active button operates on a similar principle as the hide tag. For that reason, you do not need to add a 'hide' tag to gallery content to keep it from going live. Just use this toggle instead
  10. Bulk Photo Upload: All the images that you have gathered for your gallery should be added to this area. NOTE: (1) You can only upload 48 images at a time. (2) 'Drag and Drop'/direct files select are the only options here, but you can add images using URLs by clicking on the [Add Photo] button below the Bulk Photo Upload area. TIP: Try to have at least 15 images (bare minimum 10) per gallery. Anything less will usually appear as lacking content

How-to use bulk photo: The process is simple, drag and drop up to 48 images at a time. You can also select the images by browsing for them directly on your computer. As you add images to this area, it will create a queue below the bulk photo upload that says 'Files to Upload.' After you have added up to the 48 you want in the gallery, you can either check the list and delete incorrect submissions with the trash can icon, or you press the 'Upload Now' button at the bottom

Once your images have finished uploading (may take a few minutes) you have a some options available to you:
a.) You can add more images by repeating the process above or below
b.) You can edit/update images you have already added
c.) You can click 'Submit' at the bottom to finish your gallery content

How-to use [Add Photo] button: Click on the button and you will be taken to the 'Add New Photo' form. This form has a sort order, description and area for the image URL. The sort order changes how the images appear in the gallery, from top to bottom. The description is text that will be added under only that image in the gallery, and the image URL is where you place your image link. Once finished, select 'Save.'

Step 3: Edit/Update Gallery Content

The last thing we will be looking at is how you can Edit or Delete gallery content after you have created it.

Finding the Gallery Content you want to Edit:
When you are on the 'Gallery List' page in the Content Portal, you will see a search box in the upper right hand corner. You can manually scroll through your gallery list to find the gallery you want to edit, or you can use the search function. You can also toggle the sort order area (clicking on the up & down arrows) to change the order from ascending to descending and visa-versa.

When using the search box, you need only to began typing the name of the gallery you are looking for and it will automatically begin eliminating the options until only the name of your gallery remains. The search box only applies to the gallery name.

Deleting a Gallery:

While in the 'Gallery List' area, you can delete an entire gallery if you want to. You need only click on the trash can icon to the far right of the gallery name. Once you click on the trash can, you will be prompted to confirm that you truly want to delete the content. You confirm yes (by clicking the delete button) or no (by clicking the cancel button). Once the content has been deleted, it cannot be recovered again.

Edit/Update a Gallery:

Find the gallery that you want to make a change to in the 'Gallery List' area. Click on the UPDATE button, on the far right-hand side. Once you select your gallery, you will be taken to the 'Edit Gallery' area, with the gallery content already filled in. From here you can make any changes that you want to in any of the fields on the form. Giving you the same options as when you first created the gallery. If you like the changes that you made, click Submit. If you do not, click Cancel and the content will revert back to what it was before you began making the changes.

In addition to editing the gallery content you can also edit each photo in the gallery changing such options as its sort order, giving it a description or modifying its description, and deleting or replacing the image URL. Do this by finding the image you want to make changes to and then clicking the 'Update' button.

If you click Submit, there is no way to recover the earlier version(s). So save any content you think you might want later in a separate document outside of the Content Portal. NOTE: The Images that were directly uploaded to the Content Portal, cannot be downloaded again later using the UPDATE button. That means that if you make a change to the Image by deleting &/or replacing it, that content will be lost forever if you do not have it saved outside the Content Portal already. If you used a URL, then you can copy the URL out of the Content Portal at a later time, if needed.
